Behind the eyes

In September 2006, my wife and I moved away from the place that we called home for 23 years. Now we’re 308 miles from their doorstep and in a fresh, vibrant area outside of Nashville.

I play drums. It’s not a hobby, although I’m not getting paid. But that’s only because I haven’t found anyone to play with. I know plenty of people that I would love to jam with, but they’re all already pretty successful in their own right. And the others don’t live around here.

To make myself a more versatile musician, I’m studying under Garett Buell on Tuesdays. He’s the percussionist for Caedmon’s Call, plays drums for Derek Webb, Sandra McCracken and is a top notch session player who has recorded with the likes of David Wilcox and many others. Needless to say, that’s super-fun.

We go to Fellowship Bible Church and have met some amazing people there. It’s a wonderful community to be a part of.

You may see that I write a good bit about theology. It’s definitely something I enjoy to talk about, so brace yourselves for deep thoughts on the Reformation.
